Florida Rule 61G4-15.100 defines a certified garage door installation specialty contractor, effective in 2024, who may fabricate, assemble, install, repair and service garage doors and their operating devices and may install low-voltage safety wiring, but must subcontract other electrical work to a licensed electrical contractor. General, building and residential contractors hold broader classes. Section 489.117, Florida Statutes, limits local licensing of work that does not correspond to a statutory or board-adopted category. The DBPR license search accepts a name, license number, city or county, or license type.

Venice and Sarasota are outside the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, which Miami-Dade County's product control brochure limits to Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
