Verify performance evidence before an order
Connect climate-zone goals and NFRC fields to the exact quoted configuration without treating a family page as a certification record.
What is not established
- No displayed product family is represented as ENERGY STAR qualified or NFRC certified.
- Ratings, certification status, and climate-zone suitability remain unknown until checked for the exact current configuration.
- The local collection does not establish local availability, approval, service coverage, or project suitability.
Keep five fields distinct
- U-factor: heat-transfer performance; lower values indicate less heat transfer under the rating method
- Solar heat gain coefficient: fraction of incident solar heat admitted; lower values mean less solar gain
- Visible transmittance: amount of visible light admitted under the rating method
- Air leakage: rated air movement through the product
- Condensation resistance: comparative resistance to condensation under the rating method
Bind the record to what is quoted
- Identify climate zone and project goals
- Record manufacturer, family, product type, frame, dimensions, glass package, grille, hardware, and options
- Request the associated current NFRC and ENERGY STAR evidence when claimed
- Resolve differences between standard rated size and quoted dimensions
- Keep installation and opening conditions separate from the factory product rating
ENERGY STAR uses climate-zone criteria and NFRC-certified ratings. NFRC defines the label fields. This collection does not query the certified-products directory or certify a configuration.
