How ENERGY STAR defines a door

The Version 7.0 specification defines a door as a sliding or swinging entry system between conditioned and unconditioned space, including sidelites, in three glazing categories: opaque, half-lite or less, and more than half-lite. Criteria depend on glazing level and climate zone, and products made on or after October 23, 2023 must meet Version 7.0 to carry the label.

What the NFRC door label shows

NFRC door labels carry two ratings, U-factor and solar heat gain coefficient, with the circled value applying to the door's glass configuration. NFRC is the certification body for ENERGY STAR doors.
